Builder · Writer · Host · Investor
I build tools, write about AI, and bring its practitioners into conversation.
I build open-source tools and agent workflows, write about AI infrastructure and developer experience, and host Chain of Thought, the podcast I created. I also back early-stage technical founders as an angel investor.
Previously led Developer Relations and Community at Modular, and developer marketing at Galileo and LinearB.
Quoted or interviewed by The Atlantic, The New York Times, and ABC News · guest on JavaScript Jabber and Humans of Reliability · moderated panels at INTERACT.
Builds
I build tools for work I do every day: giving agents useful context, checking their output, and turning a draft into something worth publishing. A few examples:
- Context & memory OSS
agent-context-os
Keeps identity, projects, decisions, and session handoffs in reviewable Markdown. Claude Code and Codex share the same lifecycle core; integrations stay opt-in.
- Check & prove OSS
ssot-check
Deterministic drift auditor for facts hand-copied across docs — stdlib Python CLI (45 tests), a .ssot.yaml manifest with typed normalization, pre-commit hook, GitHub Action, and an AI skill wrapper for discovery. Never mutates a repo it audits.
- Write & publish OSS
avoid-ai-writing (skill)
Open-source skill that flags and rewrites AI writing patterns: 60+ pattern categories, a 100+-entry replacement table, and a zero-dependency detector engine. The same rules I use to audit my own drafts.
I also build libraries in Mojo, including parsers and text-processing tools. Explore my builds →
Writing
I write about AI infrastructure, developer experience, and how engineering teams work. Building with the technology gives me a way to test the claims I hear and the advice I give.

I write $1–10K angel checks into early-stage companies, mostly AI infrastructure, developer tools, and robotics. I support founders through investor introductions, developer distribution, and content amplification. View my portfolio →.
Background
I've led developer relations, community, and content programs at Modular, developer marketing at Galileo and LinearB, and technical content and enterprise programs at Microsoft. A few results from that work:
- Created and led Modular’s events program, driving 3x quarter-over-quarter growth in sales-qualified leads in my first full quarter.
- Helped Galileo grow revenue 3x+ as employee #40.
- Helped LinearB grow ARR 28x during my tenure after joining as employee #23.
- Built and co-hosted Dev Interrupted, growing it into a top-100 US technology podcast with a community of 19,000+ email subscribers.
Dev Interrupted is ranked in the top 1% globally by Listen Notes.
Recognized as an OSS4AI Pioneer.

I came into tech sideways. As a teen I built websites and ran large online gaming communities, then started my career in political organizing and campaign management. That work taught me to listen closely, explain complicated ideas clearly, and turn interest into participation. I co-founded a boutique political consulting firm, advised candidates including Rep. Pramila Jayapal and Lt. Gov. Cyrus Habib, and later sold my stake to my co-founder.
From there I built content and marketing practices across tech: the content marketing practice at the boutique consultancy Olive & Goose, enterprise consulting at Microsoft, then the marketing team at LinearB, where I co-hosted Dev Interrupted and grew it from zero to 19,000+ subscribers. At Galileo I was employee #40, leading developer awareness, marketing, and messaging for a Series B AI evaluation and observability company. Most recently, I led Developer Relations and Community at Modular, building the ecosystem around Mojo and MAX and leading company content.
I’m a University of Washington alum, based in Tumwater, WA.
Advisory & consulting
I help AI infrastructure and developer tools companies reach developers, explain technical products, and grow adoption. My advisory work covers developer relations, ecosystem strategy, and technical marketing. See how we can work together →
Outside work
Married to Katherine. Based in Tumwater, WA, with two cats (Penelope and Cleo). Avid Twilight Imperium and Age of Empires II player, former chess team nerd. I got into computers refurbishing PCs for Latin American school computer labs in 2007 and built websites for old Runescape clans not long after.
