I work across AI infrastructure and developer tools as a builder, a host, and an investor. Most of what I do compounds across those three: building sharpens what I write and ship, hosting Chain of Thought gives me a front-row seat to what's actually changing, and investing puts skin in the game on the bets I find most credible.

I came into tech sideways. As a teen I built websites and ran large online gaming communities, then started my career in political organizing and campaign management. That work drilled in storytelling, battle-tested process, and the value of a high-performing team. I co-founded a boutique political consulting firm, advised candidates including Rep. Pramila Jayapal and Lt. Gov. Cyrus Habib, and later sold my stake to my co-founder.

From there I built content and marketing practices across tech: the content marketing practice at the boutique consultancy Olive & Goose, enterprise consulting at Microsoft, then the marketing team at LinearB, where I co-hosted Dev Interrupted and grew it from zero to 19,000+ subscribers. At Galileo I was employee #40, leading developer awareness, marketing, and messaging for a Series B AI evaluation and observability company, work that fed directly into its acquisition by Cisco.

My writing has run in The New York Times, ABC News, Vox, and the Seattle Times, among others. I've published 100,000+ words on AI development, developer experience, and building trustworthy AI for production.

Day job

Technical Ecosystem Lead at Modular, working on developer adoption for the Mojo programming language and the MAX inference platform, the open path to programming GPUs and accelerators without locking yourself into a single vendor's stack. Qualcomm has announced plans to acquire Modular in a reported $4 billion deal.

Background

Before Modular: developer ecosystems at Galileo (acquired by Cisco, April 2026), and at LinearB, where I ran developer marketing and was GM of the Dev Interrupted podcast and community. Earlier: enterprise consulting at Microsoft. Earlier still: a career in political organizing, including co-founding a boutique consulting firm.

Two through-lines: I keep ending up where technical credibility and audience-building overlap, and I keep ending up on something that gets acquired.

Outside work

Married to Katherine. Based in Tumwater, WA, with two cats (Penelope and Cleo). Avid Twilight Imperium and Age of Empires II player, former chess team nerd. I got into computers refurbishing PCs for Latin American school computer labs in 2007 and built websites for old Runescape clans not long after.
